The models by Chris Burgess were taken down in 2008 due to the amount of "gimme pigs", which resulted in the formation of the famed Sodor Island 3D, which itself was shut down in January 2018 after a DeviantArt user illegally uploaded the 2010 models, and responded to anyone telling him to take them down with profanity.

In response, Wildnorwester shut down his website (though left the door open for a future return, and the models were still available if one knew the web addresses for the download pages, but while the pages still exist, the download links were set to private sometime in March 2020), and all but disappeared from DeviantArt (though his profile is still open, revealing that all characters were receiving 3D faces in the lead-up to final episodes of The Modern Years at the time of the shutdown, the only updated models publicly released were Toby and the Scottish Twins). I've wanted a physical Sodor map for so long, so I'm pleased as punch to finally have one! I might upload a photo of the framed map too, following this. I've also since printed this map and had it framed and hung on a wall in my house. For example the orientation of the Brendam river, and the locations of the Glennock Junior School and Rheneas Slate Quarry are educated guesses, but we don't know for certain. Added labels of locations both man-made (Bulgy's Bridge, Wellsworth Orchard, Kyndley Cottage, Rolf's Castle Conference Centre etc) and natural (Suddery Bay, Skarloey Valley, Anopha Fell, Falls of Tid etc), as well as towns/locales (Callandale, Elsdale, The Garth) With his permission I've since taken this map, edited out the ERS elements, and instead added as many RWS elements as I could to make it as detailed as possible. It was created by Christopher Signore of Sodor Island Forums for the purposes of the Extended Railway Series. The map above started off as a digital vector map of the Clive Spong map seen in The New Collection book and elsewhere.
